When the PR company specifically requested that I tweet and to make sure I reference #BBMParty aka Blackberry’s ‘star’ studded event, I doubt they had planned on such a fatally dramatic climax. If you hadn’t heard, a reveller [I've been reading The Sun] was unfortunately stabbed resulting in quite a sour end to what was a pretty good night.

First to the gig.

Blackberry had taken over the Bankside vaults where Wretch 32 and Jessie J were due to perform to 1600 Blackberry competition winners.   As I arrive Wretch 32 was soundchecking as guests were trickling in, hardly seamless but the venue was great, open, rustic plush with loads of tasteful branding. And free drink. Mustn’t forget the free booze.

Didn’t really stick around for Wretch’s set as we’d clarified, I’d already heard it, I basically made my way to the VIP to see who was about to chat to.

While outside was Blackberry, inside the VIP it was purely an iPhone affair. Blackberry sales girls were on hand to tout the new BB messenging service. Good idea. Would have been better if they could speak English and knew how to operate a Blackberry. However I get lost in the detail of it all.

The VIP area went from a desolate wasteland to a baying throng of stilleto clad thongs and West London Tarquins in a matter of minutes resulting in a very ungraceful scrum for the [free] bar.  Celeb wise- a mix of music and reality people from TOWIE and Made in Chelsea, which let’s face it are a PR/News outlet’s dream come true. Ran into Chip diddy Chip on a month long visit from the States where he’s been working on his first mix tape in Atlanta, Ronnie Wood’s ex, Jo wood, who was there with her son.  Jo did admit that while she owned a Blackberry she hadn’t used it and Tyrooonnnnneeee showed me this iPhone cover that acts as a battery. Can I just point out ladies, Tyrone is proper fit. And both super nice.

In between having a little chatter met a few nice journos, a plastic surgeon who wouldn’t divulge who in the room was his client. Loads of TOWIE people, Made In Chelsea and the bowtie dude from The Voice let slip a few titbits that piqued my interest in what is going to come up in the coming weeks.

Hijacked Russell Kane at the bar and have harrassed to come on my chatshow in Edinburgh called Eleanor Conway’s Late Night Lock-in at the Wee Coo / Bristo Square 23;55- just saying.

A dandy soul is that Russell Kane, painfully single, on the search for a wife and totally oblivious that most women think he’s proper hot. IF you’d like to audition to be Russell KAne’s baby mama stalk him on Twitter. He told me that the three things  he looks for is kindness, a good soul and lastly, wanting to bang his brains out on the first date…. a slutty saint basically….  so if you fit the bill…..

Trying to feign a casual interest in a Made In Chelsea/ Sugababe wannabe, is proper knackering. I always think when conversations like that start, you really owe to each other to stop, take a sip of your drink and 90 degree it out there. Which is what I did, right into a stellar vocal performance by Jessie J.

I don’t know how much they paid Jessie to the Jay, but she interspersed her set with Jessie-fied on brand Blackberry messages encouraging the 1600 Blackberry competition winners to pin each other [or whatever]. Regardless a flawless set by J Unit.

And then the trouble started.

Not sure what exactly happened as I had been double fisting all night [quiet at the back], but I went back into VIP only to be ushered out. Doors closed. And the whole club was held inside the venue for what seemed like hours. If you’ve ever been busted at an illegal party I’m sure that’s what you must have felt it was like. Was over pretty quickly as the Police asked everyone what they had seen etc, but still someone is seriously injured by some idiot trying to be the big man. Whatever.

Great night, great for people watching…..

I like a good mash up. I like mash. The two go hand in hand I think.

Mashups are always a bit hit and miss for me, two fully constructed songs put together often sound a bit messy ie sonically busy, and for leccy producers who have no concept of key- a bit shit.

With two exceptions, the Aeroplane mash up of Snoops ‘Sexual Seduction’ and Friendly Fires ‘Paris’, I love this track that if I were Dognation I would hump it all day.

THE BEST FURCKING TRACK IN THE WORLD….. BOOM!

And the second track I just stumbled on today, it’s by the Daft Beatles, they do mashups, funnily loads of them with Eleanor Rigby in them. I should have posted one of them. But they weren’t as good as this Adele vs Jamiroquai mashup.
